Software Engineer - Robotics & Backend

What to Expect?
This is a remote, project-driven role where you’ll get the freedom to solve real-world robotics challenges while working with a passionate, international team. We expect around 40 hours per week, with occasional visits to the Netherlands. Starting compensation: €1,700/month (with growth potential as we scale).

What You’ll Be Working On
Develop modular, scalable software architectures for robotic systems in C++ and ROS2.
Implement software modules for perception, tracking, and motion control.
Design and maintain backend services (Python/Node.js preferred) to support data flow, configuration, and system monitoring.
(Optional but valuable) Build lightweight frontend tools or dashboards for visualization, system control, or data inspection.
Collaborate with the mechatronics and AI teams to integrate hardware, control, and perception systems.
Ensure code is well-structured, maintainable, and optimized for real-time robotics applications.
Participate in system testing and validation on real robotic hardware.
Contribute to the overall product architecture with a focus on modularity, scalability, and reliability.

What You Bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Robotics, Software Engineering, or related field.
Strong programming skills in C++ (modern C++14/17/20) and ROS2.
Experience with software architecture and modular system design.
Familiarity with backend development (Python, Node.js, or similar).
Basic knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar) is a plus.
Experience with Git, CI/CD, and containerization (Docker).
Ability to work across a multidisciplinary robotics team and deliver results in a startup environment.
